Our Story
How we create unique woodwork,
from Tree to You.
The tale begins with "The Wood", a remote area of Kentish forest which has been managed by Oscar's family for 3 generations. There are several miles of footpaths running through The Wood which need to be maintained, particularly when storms blow weak or old trees down on them. Woodpecker Studio was created as means to celebrate these fallen giants by giving them a second life as beautiful homeware. We mill the wood and air dry it for up to five years before use, producing high quality timber which we can say with confidence has a negligible environmental impact. It is then moved to our workshop in Newhaven where we design and make our products, completing the process from Tree to You.
